Bible App For Kids: Troubleshooting

Update Bible App for Kids

Android
  1. Press and hold the Bible App for Kids icon on your home screen or app drawer.
  2. Tap App info (or the i icon).
  3. Scroll to the Store section and tap App details.
  4. If the button says Open, your app is up to date.
  5. If it says Update, tap it and wait for the update to complete.
iOS
  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Tap your profile icon at the top right.
  3. Scroll down to see available updates.
  4. If Bible App for Kids appears, tap Update.

Then try using the Bible App again to see if it works as expected.

Force Close the App, Then Reopen It

Android
  1. Swipe up from the bottom and hold to view recent apps.
  2. Find Bible App for Kids and swipe it off the screen.
iOS
  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle.
  2. Find Bible App for Kids and swipe it up to close.

Now reopen the Bible App and see if it works as expected.

Clear Bible App for Kids Local Cache

On Android, you can clear the app's cache directly. iOS manages the cache differently and provides no manual option within system settings.
Android
  1. Press and hold the Bible App for Kids icon.
  2. Tap App info (or the i icon).
  3. Tap Storage & cache.
  4. Tap Clear cache.
iOS

If you're still experiencing issues on iOS, we recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the app (see below), as this is the only way to remove cached data.

Sign Out, Then Sign In Again

Restart Your Device

Android
  1. Press and hold your power button until options appear.
  2. Tap Restart, then confirm.
iOS
  1. Press and hold the Side button and Volume Up/Down until the power off slider appears.
  2. Slide to power off.
  3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Side button again to restart.

Remove the Bible App for Kids, Then Reinstall It

This gives you a completely fresh install. Don't worry—your medals and more are safely saved to your free YouVersion account. Just be sure you know your sign-in info before continuing.

Android
  1. Press and hold the Bible App for Kids icon.
  2. Tap App info (or the i icon).
  3. Tap Storage & cache and clear both.
  4. Tap Uninstall.
  5. Restart your device.
  6. Reinstall the app from the Play Store and sign in.
iOS
  1. Tap and hold the Bible App for Kids icon.
  2. Tap Remove App, then confirm.
  3. Restart your device.
  4. Reinstall the app from the App Store and sign in.
