Troubleshooting Bible Versions on Android
- I can’t find a Bible version or a specific format of a Bible version.
Our team is grateful for the many Bible Publishing Partners who have come alongside us to help provide people worldwide with access to Scripture. Because we aren’t the owners of the Bible version content, our team is dependent on the permissions each Partner gives us. If you can’t find what you are looking for, it may be because that version is currently unavailable from the Partner. Please complete the Bible Version Request form if you would like to request a Bible version. - Why are some Bible Verses missing?
As you read or listen to the Bible, you may sometimes notice certain passages that don’t seem to “match” across various Bible versions. This doesn’t mean that translators or Bible publishers have changed or removed verses. It just means those texts were translated at different times, with different scholars working on them, maybe even from different sources. For example, some of the Dead Sea Scrolls, discovered in 1947, are older than the scrolls that were available to the translators of the King James Bible, whose work began in 1604.)
These minor differences don’t alter the core doctrines of the Christian faith in any way.
Many of the Bibles we offer, like the New International Version and English Standard Version, include annotations that show these translation differences.
