iOS: Merging Bible App Accounts
Currently, the Bible App doesn’t support merging accounts. However, if you created a second account with a new email address and need to transfer your data from your old account, you can follow the steps below.
If you no longer have access to your old email
Unfortunately, if you no longer have access to your old email account, there’s no way to recover your data. We’re unable to merge accounts.
If you still have access to your old email
If you have access to your old email, you can manually transfer your data to your new account by following these steps:
- Back up your data
- Sign in to the Bible App with your new email and password.
- Manually save any important data (such as notes, highlights, plans, and bookmarks) by copying them to a document or writing them down.
- This step is necessary because the new account will be temporarily deleted to allow for email reassignment.
- Delete your new account
- Sign in to the Bible App with your new email and password.
- Delete the account. (See instructions: Delete Your Bible App Account)
- Wait at least 24 hours for the deletion to fully process.
- Change your old account’s email to your new email
- Sign in to the Bible App with your old email and password.
- Change the email address on your old account to your new email. (See instructions: Change Your Email Address)
- Follow all the prompts in your new email to confirm the change.
- Restore your data
- Sign in to the Bible App using your new email and password.
- Manually re-enter the data you saved in Step 1.
At this point, your old account is now using your new email, and all your data should be available.
