Prayer

Overview

Make Prayer a part of your everyday life.

What do you talk to God about? Many people find the idea of prayer intimidating … but it was never meant to be this way. Prayer is simply an ongoing, honest conversation between you and God—and sometimes includes your trusted friends. YouVersion Prayer helps you make prayer a daily habit.

YouVersion Prayer is currently available on Android and iOS devices, but not at Bible.com.

Guided Prayer

Guided Prayer leads you through the framework of “the Lord’s prayer,” the prayer structure that Jesus taught His disciples, recorded in Matthew 6 and in Luke 11. Every day, a new series of prompts helps you practice having conversations with God based on His Word.

Android, iOS:

  1. Select the Home tab, if it isn’t already.
    iOS:
Select the For You tab, if it isn’t already.
  2. Find the Prayer card in your Home feed,
    then select Pray Now.
Most panels include descriptive titles like Welcome, Honor God, God’s Will, My Concerns, My Response, etc.
  3. Tap the right side of the screen to advance,
    OR
Tap the left side of the screen to go back,
following the prompts as you go.
Top left: To close today’s guided Prayer, select X.
Some panels may include prompts that help you add a Prayer to your Prayer List, or prompts to remind you to pray for Prayers that you have already saved to your Prayer List.

Additional Options:

  • My Concerns. Select Add Prayer to create a new Prayer in your Prayer List about some problem you are facing.
  • From my Prayer List. Select View Details to see the content from a Prayer that you have already saved. To remove a Prayer from your Prayer List but still keep it, select Archive. Top left: Select X to return to Guided Prayer.
