Android: Discover Churches

YouVersion is designed to help you grow spiritually and connect with others, including your church. It has features like Plans with Friends and Prayer. When you set up your church on YouVersion, you’ll stay connected in the community throughout the week. You’ll be notified of new church-wide Bible Plans and can read Scripture alongside our entire church community!

Search For A Church

  1. Select the Discover tab if it hasn’t been selected already.
  2. Top: select the Search field.
  3. Enter the church name, and then select 🔍 on the keyboard.
  4. Tap ⇾ to see more churches.
    Tap the language button below Churches to see churches in a different language.
A QR code or a link directly to your church Page can also be provided. Ask a member of your church administration team for more details.

Discover Churches

You must turn on location settings on your device to see churches near you.
  1. Select the Discover tab if it hasn’t been selected already.
  2. Select Churches (underneath the search bar). You can also scroll down to find Churches My Friends Attend and Churches Near Me.

Churches Near Me

  1. Swipe left to see churches located near you. You can also select -> to see the list of churches.
  2. Don't see the Church you're looking for? It's possible the church doesn't have a page in the App. Reach out to the church to see if they're in the Bible App or reach out to YouVersion Support (More > Help).
  3. To set a Church as My Church, select the church Page. Select the three dots in the top right corner. Select Set As My Church.
Select Notification Settings to adjust when and how you want to receive alerts from the church.

Churches My Friends Attend

  1. Swipe left to see the churches your friends attend. You can also select -> to see the list of churches.

Join Your Church

  1. Find for your church.
  2. Select the church.
  3. Tap "Set As My Church".
  4. Select who can see your home church. You can select 'Everyone' which will allow anyone who finds your profile to see your church, 'Friends' which will allow only your current friends to see your church, or 'Only Me' which will allow you to follow your church without anyone else knowing.
  5. Tap "Confirm".
Some countries may require additional consent to process your data and join the church. You can only join your church if you agree to the data being processed in line with our Privacy Policy.

Leave My Church

  1. Bottom right: select the More tab if it hasn’t been selected already.
  2. Scroll down and select your church.
  3. Top right: select ︙, Remove as My Church.

Share My Church

  1. Bottom right: select the More tab if it hasn’t been selected already.
  2. Scroll down and select your church.
  3. Top right: tap the Share icon.
  4. Select the method or people you want to share with and follow the prompts.
