Android: Sign Up for a New YouVersion Account

Updated 1 week ago by Zizoh Anto

Overview

Your YouVersion account gives you a secure place to save Prayers, keep track of Plans you’re subscribed to, Badges you’ve earned, add Verse Images, save your Highlights, Bookmarks, Notes, connect with Friends, and more. You can access your YouVersion account from any device that supports the Bible App and at Bible.com. Some of the features are only supported on the Bible App on iOS or Android and not supported on Bible.com.

We give you everything you need to use YouVersion for free, with no limits and no ads. It’s free for everyone, and it’s free for our Bible and Content Partners. Although you can use YouVersion without an account, many Bible App features only work if you have one.

Refer to YouVersion’s Privacy Policy to see the many ways that we protect your privacy and your data. Refer to YouVersion’s Terms of Use to learn your rights and responsibilities for using YouVersion’s services.
You can now read The Bible App in Open Dyslexic font - a typeface designed to mitigate some of the common reading errors caused by dyslexia.

How to access:
1. Open the Bible reader tab and select the "Aa" at the top center
2. Click on the font window and scroll down and select the "Open Dyslexic" font.
3. Swipe the Font box downwards to finish.

You can also download and add other fonts not available on the App.

The first time you open the App:

  1. Recommended: select Continue with Email.
    1. Enter your First Name, Last Name, Email, and Password.
Use a personal email and not a school/work email to still have access to your YouVersion account if your email gets deactivated.
    2. Tap Create Account.
  2. Optional: select Continue with Google.
If you select Continue with Google, follow the prompts to sign in using that service.

Anytime:

  1. Bottom left: select the Home tab if it hasn’t been selected already.
If you see your Profile Picture (or your Initial), you’re already signed in.
  1. Top right: tap Sign In.
  2. Recommended: select Continue with Email.
  3. Optional: select Continue with Google or Facebook.
If you select Continue with Google or Facebook, follow the prompts to sign in using the chosen service.
  4. If you select Continue with Email (Recommended):
Follow the prompts to create your account.
Use a personal email and not a school/work email to still have access to your YouVersion account if your email gets deactivated.
Your password is case-sensitive and must be 6–32 characters.
We recommend creating a unique password for your YouVersion account and saving it with a password management tool for easy retrieval.

Confirmation:

  1. YouVersion sends a confirmation email to the address you used to create your account.
  2. Check your email and select the link in the confirmation message.
  3. It may take several minutes for your confirmation email to arrive. If you don’t receive it, try these troubleshooting steps: I don’t see the YouVersion email I expected.
  4. After you’ve confirmed your email address, sign in to the App.

Troubleshooting Sign-Up Issues on Android

I keep getting “Sorry, that email is not available” when I try to sign up.

This means the email address you are trying to use is already associated with an existing YouVersion account. Sign in with this email address instead of trying to create a new account. If you need to start fresh with the same email, sign in, delete the existing account, and then sign up again. If you can’t remember your password, see how you can reset it here.
