Android: Verse of the Day

Verse of the Day features a new Bible verse every day of the year — chosen by the YouVersion team to encourage, inspire, or challenge you.

Tap the verse to read the full text. You can like it or share it, and tap More for additional options like Read Full Chapter, Create Image, Compare Versions, and see past days.

View Past Verse of the Day

Missed a day? No problem. You can access past Verse of the Day content in two ways:

From the Home Screen:

  1. Tap the Home tab (bottom left).
  2. Tap More at the bottom right of the Verse of the Day.
  3. Tap See Past Days.
  4. Continue to the steps below.

From the You Screen:

  1. Tap the You tab (bottom right).
  2. Tap More (≡) in the top right.
  3. Tap Verse of the Day.
  4. Continue to the steps below.

Once you're there:

  1. Make sure Text is selected in the top left. Tap Image if you want to browse past Verse of the Day images instead.
  2. Scroll to find the day you want and tap it.
  3. Tap the video to play it.
  4. Swipe up on the screen to advance, or the X in the top left to go back.
Some sections — like Scripture and Prayer — have a share option. Just tap the Share icon and follow the prompts.

More things you can do here:

  1. Devotional — Scroll down to read more.
  2. Prayer — Tap Add to Prayer List to save the day's prayer to your Prayer List.
  3. Verse Image — Tap Save to Profile to save the image to your Images and add it to your Home feed.

Change the Verse of the Day Bible Version

The Verse of the Day Bible version will always follow the last version used in the Bible Reader tab. To switch versions, see how to change your Bible version.

Share Guided Scripture

You can share any section of the Guided Scripture by tapping the share icon to the left of the More icon. To share the whole thing, tap Share Story at the bottom of the last section.

Share Verse of the Day Text

Want to send someone an encouraging verse? Here's how:

  1. On the Home screen, tap the Share icon at the bottom of the Verse of the Day.
  2. Tap the copy icon to copy the text to your clipboard.
  3. To share directly to an app (like Messages or Email), tap that app's icon.
