Update your profile information, including your email address, on Android.
Your profile helps friends find you in the app and lets you personalize your YouVersion experience. Anyone signed in to the app can see your picture, name, location, or bio — so only add what you're comfortable sharing.
How to Edit Profile Information
- Select the You tab (your profile picture or initial) at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the Settings gear icon.
- Tap Edit Profile.
- Make any changes necessary and then tap Save.
What you can Update
- Profile Picture (optional) — If you skip this, the app shows a circle with your first and last initials. Once you add a picture, you can replace it anytime, but you can't remove it entirely — contact YouVersion support if you'd like it deleted.
- Name — Shown to other users; you can use just your initials if you'd prefer more privacy.
- Email Address — Update this field to switch the email linked to your account. (Note: if you signed in with Google, your email is managed by that service instead — updating it here won't change your actual sign-in email.)
- Password — Select Change Password to update it. You'll need your current password, and your new one must be 15–32 characters. For full steps, see Managing Your Password.
- Delete Account — Found at the bottom of the Edit Profile screen. This permanently removes your account and can't be undone. For full steps, see Delete Your Free YouVersion Account.
Web-only fields: ZIP/postal code, Country or Region, and Timezone are available when editing your profile at Bible.com, but not in the Android app.
Private information that is only visible by you is your email, notification settings, and password.
