Why can’t I see red letters in all versions on Android

Updated 1 month ago by Friedrich-Wilhelm Prussak

  • Some versions of the Bible have the words of Jesus in red, some do not
  • Among the red letter versions there are some differences in what is colored
  • A difference in theology is seen from publisher to publisher
  • Of course there were no red words in the original manuscripts, so there is no absolute right or wrong way to use red lettering
How to turn red letters on or off
  1. Select the Menu icon (three stacked lines)
  2. Scroll down and select Settings
  3. Scroll down to Red Letters and slide the switch to the right (on position green) left (off )

Below is a list of all the red letter Bibles that are currently available on YouVersion:

  • CSB (Chinese Standard Bible)
  • ESV (English Standard Version)
  • KJV (King James Version)
  • MTDS (Mushuj Testamento Diospaj Shimi)
  • NASB (New American Standard Bible)
  • NCV (New Century Version)
  • NIV (New International Version)
  • NKJV (New King James Version)
  • NTV (Nueva Traducción Viviente)
  • VDCC (Versiunea Dumitru Cornilescu Corectată)
  • WEB (World English Bible)

If you are reading any other version, there will be no red lettering regardless of whether you have the switch turned on or off

How did we do?
