iMessage App on iOS

The iMessage App allows you to quickly find Verse of the Day images and verses by emotion, scripture reference or by keyword search and easily insert them into messages to your friends.

Preparing to Install

In order to successfully install the iMessage App, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Your iOS device must be running iOS 10.0 or later
  • Your iOS device must have the Bible App 7.1 or later

Please make sure your device meets the above conditions before proceeding with the instructions below

Installing & Using the iMessage App

Once you are running a supported device and Bible App version, you can proceed in installing the iMessage App. 

  1. Open the ‘Messages’ App on your iOS device
  2. Start or open any conversation
  3. Select the 'A' icon to the left of the messaging box
  4. If you do not see the Bible icon in the app drawer below the messaging box, select the 3 dots at the far right bottom
  5. Select Edit and find the Bible icon in the More Apps section
  6. Toggle the Bible’ icon on (toggle is lit green if it's on), if not already
  7. Select Done & Done again
  8. Select anywhere into the conversation area
  9. Select the Bible icon in the app drawer
  10. Underneath the app drawer will be options for finding verse images or verses related to different emotions. By default verse images will be displayed. Scroll through to find one you'd like to send in a message or . . .
  11. Select an emoticon to search for verses by emotion. Then select a word to find verses related to that word
  12. Select the magnifying glass to the right if you want to search by key word or reference
  13. To send a verse image or verse text in a message just select the image or text to insert it into the messaging box. Then send it as you normally send any message.
Uninstalling the iMessage App

If you no longer want to see the iMessage App for Bible in the app drawer:  

  1. Open the ‘Messages’ App on your device
  2. Open any conversation
  3. If you don't see app drawer, select the A icon to the left of the messaging box
  4. Select the 3 dots at the far right of the app drawer
  5. Select Edit
  6. Toggle the Bible icon off
  7. Select Done & Done again
