How to Recover Missing Information

It’s unusual for information (bookmarks, notes, highlights, reading plan) to disappear from your account. If information appears to be missing, it’s possible that you are not signed in to the Bible App or you have more than one YouVersion account and are not signed in to the account that contains the information for which you are looking.  Please check first to see that you are signed in by selecting Me on the bottom navigation bar  (iPad users tap Menu first).

NOTE:  It is not possible for an email address to be associated with more than one YouVersion account nor is it possible to merge 2 or more YouVersion accounts into one.

There are several reasons why you might have more than one YouVersion account:
  1. You upgraded your device and created a new account to sign in to the Bible App on your new device instead of signing in with the same information you used to sign in on your previous device
  • Best solution: delete the unused account and continue using your existing account

  1. You have a new email address and created a new YouVersion account for that address
  • Best solution: delete the new, unused account; then change the email address associated with your existing YouVersion account to your new email address

  1. You forgot your YouVersion password so you created a new account
  • Best solution: delete the new, unused account; then use the ‘forgot password’ feature with your existing account

  1. You chose ‘sign in with Facebook/Google’ (not currently available for all platforms) and the Bible App created a new account for you because it could not locate an existing YouVersion account associated with your Facebook/Google account.
  • Best solution: delete the new, unused account; then change the email address associated with your existing YouVersion account to the email address associated with your Facebook or Google (gmail) account
