General troubleshooting tips on Android

General Android troubleshooting tips
  • Check the Google Play Store (Amazon for Kindle and Barnes and Noble for Nook) to download the latest version available for your device.
  • Be sure you have the app installed to the internal memory. If it is installed to the SD card, the app will not run properly.
  • Clear cache clear and then sign out and in again
  1. Select the More icon (three stacked lines)
  2. Scroll down and select the Settings 
  3. Scroll down and select Clear Local Cache
  4. SIGN OUT (Settings > SIGN OUT) and then sign in  from the device to restart app
  5. Cache clear can also be done in the device under Settings. Each version of Android and manufacturer has different menus ,so please check with your device help site.
Still having issues
  1. Uninstall the app, restart your device then reinstall the app
  2. Clear cache again as reinstall may still pick up old corrupt data
  • This will not affect any of your reading plans, bookmarks or notes if you have a YouVersion account as they are stored on our site

 Kindle clear cache
  1. Settings (gear icon on notification bar)
  2. More.
  3. Applications
  4. All Applications (from drop down)
  5. Bible
  6. Clear cache
NOOK clear cache
  1. Simply shutdown and restart your device, as this will clear the data and cache automatically
  2. Restart your device and then sign back into your account
